The dealmaker's AI stack: 10 AI tools for investor relations and lean corp-dev teams
By Sellside Stack Editorial · Prices as of November 2026
A mid-cap IR function is often two people. A corporate-development team at a growth company might be three. Both are expected to produce the work of a department: earnings scripts, Q&A prep, peer monitoring, roadshow logistics, investor targeting, board materials, acquisition screens and data rooms.
AI tools for investor relations can close part of that gap, but only if the stack is built around workflows rather than shiny features. Below is the stack we would assemble for a lean team, organised by the job each tool does. Ten tools is the ceiling, not a target. Most teams need five or six.
The stack at a glance
| # | Job | Tool | Price (as of Nov 2026) | Security note |

| 1 | General drafting and analysis | ChatGPT Business or Claude Team | $20/seat/mo annual (standard); $100 premium | No training on business data by default; SSO |
| 2 | Drafting inside your own files | Microsoft 365 Copilot | $30/user/mo annual (enterprise add-on) | Enterprise Data Protection; inherits M365 permissions |
| 3 | Cited web research and news | Perplexity Enterprise Pro | $40/seat/mo or $400/yr | SOC 2 Type II; enterprise data not used for training |
| 4 | Market and peer intelligence | AlphaSense | Quote only (third-party median ~$18k/yr) | Enterprise; private cloud option |
| 5 | Earnings calls and transcripts | Quartr Pro | Quote only; free mobile app | Not confirmed |
| 6 | IR CRM and targeting | Irwin (FactSet) or Q4 | Quote only | Q4 states SOC 2 Type II |
| 7 | Meeting notes | Granola | $14/user/mo; Enterprise $35 | SOC 2 Type II; no stored audio |
| 8 | Corp-dev pipeline CRM | Attio | Plus $35, Pro $79 /seat/mo annual | ISO 27001 listed; SOC 2 not confirmed |
| 9 | Secure document sharing | DocSend or Papermark | $180/mo (DocSend ADR, annual); €99/mo (Papermark) | See our data room guide |

How we evaluate
We picked tools against five tests for a two-to-five-person team:
- Does it remove a recurring task? Weekly or quarterly work, not a one-off.
- Is the output verifiable? Citations back to filings, transcripts or source documents.
- Is the data handling acceptable for a listed company? No training on company data, SSO, clear retention.
- Can a small team adopt it without IT projects?
- Does the cost fit a lean budget?
We have not deployed these tools. Prices and certifications are as published or reported in November 2026, and anything unconfirmed is marked.
Before you buy anything: the disclosure rule
AI does not change disclosure law. For a listed company, anything material and non-public that goes into an AI tool is still inside information, and anything that comes out and is shared selectively can be a selective-disclosure problem (Regulation FD in the US; the Market Abuse Regulation in the UK and EU). Two practical rules: put unreleased results only into tools with enterprise contracts that bar training and allow you to set retention, and never let an AI tool send anything to investors without a human sign-off. This is general information, not legal advice.
The 10 tools
1. ChatGPT Business or Claude Team: the workhorse
Visit ChatGPT → Visit Claude →
Both cost the same, $20 per standard seat per month on annual billing ($25 monthly), with premium seats at $100 for heavier use. Both exclude business data from training by default and include SSO. Use one, not both. The jobs: first drafts of earnings scripts from the approved press release, "red team" analyst Q&A, summarising a 200-page peer filing, rewriting a CEO's letter in plain English.
Cons: Generic models do not know your approved numbers. Every figure must be checked against source. ChatGPT Business workspaces need at least two seats. Claude Team caps at 150 seats, ChatGPT Business at 200.
2. Microsoft 365 Copilot: drafting where your files already live
If your company runs on Microsoft 365, Copilot ($30/user/month annual as an enterprise add-on) drafts in Word, PowerPoint and Excel from documents the user can already access, under Microsoft's Enterprise Data Protection terms. The job: turn last quarter's script, board pack and draft release into a first-pass script and deck without moving files to a new vendor.
Cons: It surfaces anything a user has permission to see, so over-shared SharePoint folders become a leak risk. The add-on sits on top of an existing M365 licence.
3. Perplexity Enterprise Pro: cited answers on the open web
For news monitoring, sector context and "what did the market say about our peer's guidance cut", Perplexity's cited answers are faster than manual searching. Enterprise Pro is $40/seat/month or $400/year. It is SOC 2 Type II, enterprise data is never used for training, and uploaded files are deleted after seven days.
Cons: Custom session retention needs 50+ seats or an Enterprise Max seat ($325/month). Web sources vary in quality, so verify before you quote. A third-party governance review found no evidence of configurable regional data residency.
4. AlphaSense: the research engine
AlphaSense combines filings, transcripts, broker research, expert-call transcripts (via Tegus) and your own documents, with Generative Search answers cited at sentence level. For IR, its workflow agents can anticipate analyst questions from recent performance and track themes across peers' earnings Q&A. Expert calls are billed at the expert's rate plus a flat $75 transcription fee. Pricing is quote-only. Buyer data reported by Vendr puts the median contract at about $18,000 a year (third-party figure, unconfirmed).
Cons: Expensive for a two-person team. Annual contracts only. Expert-call and premium content add-ons can make up a large share of the bill.
5. Quartr Pro: every earnings call, live
Quartr gives one-click access to live and recorded earnings calls, capital markets days and conferences across 16,000+ companies, with real-time transcripts, slide history comparison and AI chat over first-party IR material. It now connects to Microsoft 365 Copilot, Perplexity and other assistants via MCP (a Pro subscription is required). The mobile app is free. Pro is quote-only.
Cons: No published Pro pricing, since the old $25/month individual desktop plan has been discontinued. Coverage is first-party IR material only, not broker research. We could not confirm security certifications.
6. Irwin or Q4: the IR system of record
You need one IR platform for shareholder monitoring, targeting and an investor CRM. Irwin (acquired by FactSet) combines CRM, targeting and ownership data, and in July 2026 added AI Insights: prompts that surface earnings-prep themes from 90 days of meetings or flag key holders who have gone quiet. Q4 bundles IR website, events, CRM and analytics with "Q", an AI agent that drafts earnings scripts, anticipates analyst questions and summarises peer calls. Q4 states its CRM is SOC 2 Type II compliant. Both are quote-only. One third-party estimate puts Q4 at $30,000–80,000 a year depending on modules (unconfirmed).
Cons: Enterprise pricing and multi-week implementation. You are buying a platform, so switching later is painful. AI drafting quality is still behind general-purpose models, according to independent reviewers.
7. Granola: notes without a bot in the room
For roadshow one-on-ones and investor meetings, Granola transcribes from your device without a bot joining and deletes the audio after transcription. It is SOC 2 Type II. Business is $14/user/month. Enterprise ($35) adds workspace-wide retention and training controls. Notes flow into CRMs including Attio, Affinity and HubSpot.
Cons: Consent is your responsibility, since there is no visible bot. Internal training on anonymised data is on by default below Enterprise. Storage is US-only.
8. Attio: a corp-dev pipeline you will actually keep current
For acquisition screening and partnership pipelines, Attio's automatic contact syncing, custom objects and Ask Attio queries suit a small team. Plus is $35 and Pro $79 per seat per month (annual). Free covers up to three seats.
Cons: We could not confirm a SOC 2 report (ISO 27001 is listed, per a third-party review). AI runs on credit pools. Plus caps at 10 seats.
9. DocSend or Papermark: secure sharing for investor and buyer materials
Visit DocSend → Visit Papermark →
For investor-day decks, private-placement materials or an early acquisition data room, page-level analytics tell you who actually read what. DocSend Advanced Data Rooms is $180/month annual with three users. Papermark Data Rooms is €99/month annual with three members and unlimited rooms. See our full data room comparison for detail.
Cons: DocSend pricing changed several times in 2026. Papermark is younger. Neither replaces a full VDR for a large auction.
10. Plus AI: decks inside your template
Plus AI generates and rewrites slides inside PowerPoint and Google Slides, so investor presentations stay in the corporate master. Pricing is $10–30/user/month (annual). It is SOC 2 Type II.
Cons: Custom templates from your own masters are an Enterprise feature. It does not link slides to your financial model.
Three starter stacks
- Two-person IR team, mid-cap: Claude Team or ChatGPT Business, Quartr Pro, Irwin or Q4, Granola, Plus AI.
- Three-person corp-dev team: ChatGPT Business or Claude Team, Perplexity Enterprise Pro, Attio, Granola, Papermark.
- Pre-IPO company building IR from scratch: M365 Copilot, AlphaSense, Granola, DocSend, then add an IR platform six months before listing.
Verdict
The best AI tools for investor relations in 2026 are not the ones with the most features. They are the ones that cite their sources and keep company data out of training. Start with one general assistant under an enterprise contract, add Quartr or AlphaSense for market intelligence depending on budget, keep notes with Granola, and buy an IR platform (Irwin or Q4) only when shareholder monitoring and targeting justify the contract. Everything that leaves the building still gets a human sign-off.
