The best AI pitch deck tool for bankers and founders, and where the hype ends
By Sellside Stack Editorial · Prices as of November 2026
Start with an uncomfortable truth: no AI tool on this list will produce a bank pitchbook. A real pitchbook is a template-locked PowerPoint file. Comps are linked to a model, football fields are built from a valuation workbook, footnotes are sourced, and the whole thing goes through compliance review before a client sees it. Generative slide tools are built for something different: turning an outline into a good-looking narrative deck quickly.
That still has real value. A founder's Series A deck, a CEO's board update, a corporate-development teaser, an IR investor-day storyline, a first-draft "situation overview" for an MD: all of these are narrative-first, and all of them can be drafted faster. The trick is knowing which tool fits which job, and which will get you in trouble with your template, your IT team or your compliance officer.
The short answer
- Best for bank and corporate teams locked into PowerPoint: Plus AI, or Microsoft 365 Copilot if your firm already licenses it
- Best for founders' fundraising decks: Gamma
- Best for design consistency on a small team: Beautiful.ai
- Best for collaborative decks with sharing analytics: Pitch
- Not recommended for client pitchbooks without IT and compliance sign-off: any tool that moves the deck out of your firm's environment

How we evaluate
We weight five factors for a deal or IR audience:
- Template fidelity (30%). Can it work inside your existing master and file, or does it force its own design system?
- Data governance (25%). Where does content go, is it used for training, what certifications exist, and does it sit inside your firm's identity and retention controls?
- Drafting quality for narrative slides (20%). Situation overview, investment highlights, market context, use of proceeds.
- Collaboration and review (15%). Version control, comments, locked slides, approval flow.
- Price per seat (10%).
We have not built live client decks with these tools. Capability statements come from vendor documentation unless noted.
The compliance part nobody puts on the homepage
If you work at a regulated broker-dealer, FINRA's position is simple: you are responsible for your communications whether a person or an AI wrote them. FINRA Rule 2210's content standards (fair and balanced, no exaggerated or misleading claims) apply to AI-generated material, and FINRA Regulatory Notice 24-09 reminded firms that existing rules apply to generative AI. In July 2026, Regulatory Notice 26-14 proposed modernising Rule 2210 and explicitly acknowledged that principal pre-use approval is hard to apply to AI-generated content, but it did not remove the obligation. UK-regulated firms face the equivalent "fair, clear and not misleading" standard. This is general information, not legal advice.
In practice, before any of these tools touches a client pitch, check four things:
- Is the vendor approved by IT and information security? Pasting a target's financials into an unapproved web app is a confidentiality breach, whatever the tool's SOC 2 status.
- Does it retain or train on your content? Gamma's individual plans allow training by default unless the user opts out. Business and Enterprise workspaces are excluded.
- Can compliance review the output in the normal workflow? Tools that export to PPTX into your document management system are easier to supervise than live web decks shared by link.
- Are numbers sourced? AI tools generate plausible figures. Every number on a slide must trace back to the model or a cited source.
The reviews
1. Plus AI: the pragmatic choice for PowerPoint shops
Plus AI works as an add-in inside PowerPoint and Google Slides, so the deck never leaves the file format your firm already supervises. It generates presentations from a prompt or a document, inserts single slides in a chosen layout, and rewrites or remixes existing slides. Pricing is $10/user/month (Basic), $20 (Pro) and $30 (Team), billed annually ($15/$25/$40 monthly). Enterprise adds custom templates built from your own slide masters, SSO and an API. Plus AI says it has completed a SOC 2 Type II audit.
Workflow fit: An associate turns a two-page memo into a 12-slide "situation overview" draft inside the firm template, then moves it into the real book.
Who it's for: Bank, corporate development and IR teams that live in PowerPoint. Skip it if: You need slides tied to live model outputs. Plus AI will not wire up your comps.
Cons: - Template fidelity to your own master is an Enterprise feature. - The trial requires a card and auto-charges, according to third-party reviews. - Still an external processor; IT approval is needed.
2. Microsoft 365 Copilot in PowerPoint: the one already inside your walls
If your firm runs Microsoft 365, Copilot's biggest advantage is not slide design but governance. It works inside your tenant, respects existing permissions, and is covered by Microsoft's Enterprise Data Protection commitments: prompts and responses are not used to train foundation models. It can draft a deck from a Word document or from files the user can access. The enterprise add-on lists at $30/user/month on an annual commitment (on top of a qualifying M365 licence). Copilot Business is $21 ($18 promotional to 31 December 2026).
Workflow fit: Turning an internal credit memo or board paper into a first-draft deck without moving data to a new vendor.
Who it's for: Firms already on Microsoft 365 E3/E5 or Business plans. Skip it if: Your SharePoint permissions are messy. Copilot can surface over-shared files to anyone who has access to them, including deal folders that should be walled off.
Cons: - Design output is serviceable rather than distinctive. - $30/user/month on top of existing licences adds up across a large team. - Results depend heavily on clean source documents and permissions hygiene.
3. Gamma: the founder's fastest first draft
Gamma turns a prompt, outline, PDF or PPTX into a full deck, document or web page, and exports to PPTX, PDF or Google Slides. Pricing is credit-based: Plus $9, Pro $18 and Ultra $90 per seat per month on annual billing; Business is $40/seat/month billed annually with a 10-seat minimum and adds SSO and SOC 2 documentation. Gamma states it is SOC 2 Type II compliant.
Workflow fit: A founder drafts a 15-slide Series A narrative (problem, product, traction, market, team, ask) in an afternoon, then refines the numbers by hand.
Who it's for: Founders, operators and small IR teams producing narrative decks. Skip it if: You must deliver in your firm's master template, or you need governance on an individual plan.
Cons: - Individual plans use content for model training by default unless you opt out. - Gamma-native decks lose some fidelity when exported to PowerPoint. - Credit consumption on premium models and agents can be hard to predict.
4. Beautiful.ai: brand control for small teams
Beautiful.ai's "Smart Slides" auto-format layouts as you add content, and the Team plan adds shared libraries, locked slides and version control, which is useful for keeping an IR or corporate-development deck on brand across several authors. It holds SOC 2 Type II, GDPR, CCPA and PCI certifications. SSO, SCIM and audit logs are on Enterprise. Pricing pages show Pro at $12–14.50/month (annual) and Team at $40/user/month (annual), though a tracker reported a September 2026 change to a flat $40 for three users.
Who it's for: IR and marketing teams who want consistent, polished decks without a designer. Skip it if: You need to work inside a corporate PowerPoint master.
Cons: - Its own design system, not your template. - Pricing presentation has shifted in 2026; confirm what you are buying. - Security controls (SSO, audit) are reserved for Enterprise.
5. Pitch: collaborative decks with tracking
Pitch is a collaborative presentation workspace with an AI agent that builds decks from your templates and attached files (PDFs, CSVs, notes), plus sharing links with view tracking. Pricing is €10/month (Plus) and €15/month (Team) on annual billing in euros, and Business at $25/seat/month (annual, USD) with 9,000 AI credits per seat per year. Pitch states that AI runs only when requested and that attachments are sent to its AI provider for processing.
Who it's for: Startup and growth-stage teams that want decks treated like shared documents. Skip it if: Your compliance team needs a security certification on file. We could not confirm Pitch's certifications in this research cycle.
Cons: - Security certifications not confirmed by us. - AI is credit-metered. - Another web-native format to manage alongside PowerPoint.
Verdict
For bankers and corporate teams, the right AI pitch deck tool is the one that keeps the deck in PowerPoint and inside your governance perimeter: Microsoft 365 Copilot if your firm already licenses it and your permissions are clean, otherwise Plus AI. Use either for narrative drafting, never for numbers, and route output through normal compliance review. For founders, Gamma is the fastest route from outline to a credible fundraising deck. Turn off training or use a Business workspace if the deck contains anything sensitive. Beautiful.ai and Pitch are good design and collaboration tools but are the wrong home for client pitchbooks.
